Ka Chad Sukra is a Cultural Festival of Pnar people of Jaintia Hills District, in other word it can be called a culture of get togetherness. Literally, Chad Sukra derived from the three pnar word “Chad-Suk-Kara”. ‘Chad’ means dance, ‘Suk’ means happiness or joy and ‘kara’ means healthy of mind, body corroborate with economically soundness expressing solidarity, Love and thankfulness to “U Tre Kirod[Almighty God] with merriment and dance. It is observed before sowing season after one the Behdeinkhlam’s ritual called “Ka Thoh Langdoh” which is related to sowing of seeds performed by “U Lyngdoh”.
